16 april werd de stekker uit de 'oude ' Xbox Live service getrokken. Voor veel Halo 2-spelers kwam dit hard aan, omdat Halo 2 nog veel gespeeld werd online. Veertien spelers begonnen toen een actie. Zij zijn sinds 16 april niet meer van de ‘oude’ Xbox Live afgegaan, waardoor ze nog steeds online Halo 2 kunnen spelen. Ze zijn nu nog met twaalf spelers over, omdat twee spelers moesten afhaken.
Microsoft beloond deze Halo 2-spelers, omdat ze nog steeds Halo 2 spelen. Ze worden beloond met bèta-codes voor Halo: Reach, Microsoft Points en verlenging van hun Gold Membership account.
